Application notes are integral part of hardware design. They provide the designer an insight into the device and a typical application of the device that they are designing with. Application notes provide typical application scenario, schematics, source code and optionally some photos of the project.
I and my friend S. G. Sriharsha, wanted to write few application notes for the benefit of designers. In this endavour, we have written few application notes for Cypress Microsystems. The application notes in PDF format are available in the links below:
1. ANxxxx: Easy Morse Coder, H. N. Naveen and S. G. Sriharsha.
2. ANxxxx: Interfacing a PS/2 Keyboard using SPI Slave, H. N. Naveen and S. G. Sriharsha.
3. AN2051: Precision Digital Controller, H. N. Naveen and S. G. Sriharsha. |
I have keen interest in participating in hardware design contests. These contests are conducted by various organizations around the world. One among them is "Circuit Cellar", USA. Circuit cellar along with device or IC manufacturer, conduct international design contest wherein the applicant or the contestant is provided with the IC samples (and develiopment system). The participant develops his unique application using the ICs provided and submit the project containing project report, source code, schematics and photos of the project. Prizes are awarded by distinguished panel of judges based on the novelty, usage, and application.
I recomment hardware/software designers to participate in such contests and develop their skills in embedded systems.
I have participated in few of the circuit cellar design contests. Project reports of some of my projects along with source code, schematics are listed below,
1. Easy morse coder, Cypress Microsystem, PSoC CY8C27664-24PVXI
2. Interfacing PS/2 Keyboard using SPI Slave, PSoC CY8C27664-24PVXI |
